Jamaica Topographical
The impulse to photograph the “man-altered” landscape shapes me as an artist, this work is an exploration of Jamaica and how it's inhabitants have shaped the landscape in a vibrant sometimes ordered, sometimes haphazard way, inspired by the New Topographic movement these images aim to show the area as it is and how it's inhabitants interact with their surroundings. My detached approach to making these images I hope shows the banal and the mundane. Their lack of beauty is in fact what makes them beautiful.
